At the Dome Garden in the Forest of Dean

Geodesic Domes, Lodge Rooms, and the Zero Zero Treehouse.
The UK’s Longest Running Glamping Village
The Dome Garden is a magical eco-encampment north-west of Bristol, surrounded by woodland and designed for people who want nature without roughing it.
This is not a hotel, but you’ll sleep in crisp linen and use a proper bathroom. It’s not a campsite either, but there are fires, fresh air, and that small sense of being pleasantly away from things.
The Accommodation
Zero Zero Treehouse
Net-zero treehouse living with private spa facilities and treetop views.
Geodesic Domes
A small village of domes with comfort built in, then the outdoors layered on top. There are fewer domes than there once were, but the magic hasn’t changed.
Lodge Rooms
Six rooms in the Lodge, plus The Refuge out in the garden. A straightforward stay with a good bed and the forest close by.

Glamping, Done Properly
We don’t believe in roughing it. You get en suite bathrooms, crisp linen, warm bedding, and wood-fired warmth where it’s part of the fun, not a chore. Self-catering friendly, with simple extras when we’re running them.
The Village Feel
If you’ve grown tired of scrolling through listings, this is one place, done with care.
Some guests come for the quiet. Some come for the shared bits. When Pizza Nights happenand the campfire is going, it’s easy to see why people talk about Dome Garden as more than just a stay.
A Note on Food:
Food is simple here: self-catering and local pubs, plus pizza nights when the oven is on. When it’s running, it becomes the social bit.
Who Belongs Here?
Couples
Zero Zero is built for two, and the domes do romance without trying too hard.
Families
The domes are brilliant for families—proper facilities, space to spread out, and plenty to do outdoors.
Groups
Want the place to yourselves? Whole-site bookings are available.

Zero Zero Treehouse
Net-zero treehouse living with private spa facilities and treetop views.
Built where the Superdome once stood, the Zero Zero Treehouse is the first of a series of architect-designed, carbon-neutral treehouses. Designed around wellbeing, it’s made for couples who want an experience, not just a room.
The Essentials
- The arrival: A 20-foot rope bridge approach, 15 feet above the pond.
- The view: Layered decks and a main bedroom looking straight into the trees.
- The Skygardens: A small glass room at the top with an automatic louvred roof.
- The private spa: Sauna, wooden bath for two, and a small gym/yoga space below decks.
- The plunge: A cold plunge pool (heatable with patience and a wood burner).
- Secret bunks: Hidden cabin beds for extra guests (maximum height 5’4″).

The Geodesic Domes
En-suite luxury, wood-burning stoves, and a unique architectural escape.
A small village of domes with comfort built in, then the outdoors layered on top. There are fewer domes than there once were, but the magic hasn’t changed.
The Domes
The Sky Dome: One of the joys of the Dome Garden is the night sky. In the depths of The Forest, it’s as dark as a dark thing,…
The Double Dome: Barely seen since its invention in 1948, this dome, with its external frame, is not only a miraculous blend ofengineering and philosophy…
The Simple Dome: An elegant piece of glamping purity, a 20ft dome with an ensuite shower or, in one case, a double-ended bath.

The Lodge rooms
Net-zero treehouse living with private spa facilities and treetop views.
The Lodge Rooms BnB at The Dome Garden. Everything comes to those who wait! – and these spaces are no exception!
The Rooms
- The Coal Store: The Lodge Rooms BnB has a bridal suite; this is probably it. A fabulous double with its non-living wall.
- The Garden Store: This is a lovely space with a large, en-suite dressing room and a supercool ‘Steampunk’ shower.
- The Wood Store: On the first floor, catch the morning sun on the little deck while enjoying a coffee.
- The Wine Store: First floor of the lodge, access to the roof terrace and both morning and evening sun through the windows.
- The Forest Store: Our twin-only room. It’s a lovely high-ceilinged space, on the first floor of the Lodge Rooms building.
- The Refuge: Out in the Garden is one more room – The Refuge – a 200-year-old timber building that once provided shelter and warmth for forest workers.
