Glamping Gadget
Now here’s a Glamping gadget to get a bit hot under the collar about! (No, boys. Calm down. Not her.)
And if nothing else just goes to show that recycling isn’t just about tins and plastic bottles. As every ex tv producer or journalist knows its about digging up the same old stories and putting a new twist on them. ‘There are no new ideas in TV’ an old boss of mine once said!
So, it’s no surprise to find that this years sexiest glamping gadget has done a bit of recycling of its own.
It’s a very neat idea – albeit an old one. And yet another solution for the coolest glampers wanting to charge their mobile phones on the move.
We’ve had wind powered chargers, solar powered chargers,even foot powered but now it’s the turn of the woodgas stove powered chargers.
At the heart of the biolite Campstove is a piece of 1950s technology (See? No new ideas…etc etc) An electricity-producing thermocouple which under the intense heat of a wood gas stove produces enough power to charge your mobile phone (that’s the new twist) – oh and to fan the fire that made it in the first place. (Even newer twist)
Recycled or not though, we think it’s a great little gadget. So much so that it’s now on our list of things we like and will hopefully be available to buy in the lodge before the season is out.
