Ok… So, all this blather about the Hobbity Domes or hobbit holes and no-one knows the rates as we don’t yet have a dedicated page for them (too complicated to explain!!). So this will have to stand in for now.
Costwise they are cheaper than our other domes and ideally suited to couples. If you do add smalls into the equation then you have to add a small amount per additional person per short break (slightly more for a week booking).
What are they? Well, 15ft in diameter, big enough for two adult Hobbity types up to about 6’2″ (so tall Hobbits are fine) with up to two little ones although one of the has been known to take three little ones.
There are three Hobbity domes collectively known as ‘The Pebbles’ sitting near each other in a corner of the site the gardeners call ‘Bedrock’. Individually they are Flintstone, Sandstone and Bambam. (older viewers will get that!)
The main domes are sunk three feet into the ground and they all have woodburners to keep them cosy. Because they are small and hugely insulated they are our warmest domes in the winter and our coolest domes in the Summer – some would argue they are our coolest domes – period!!
Unlike elsewhere on the site, the ensuites are two steps up and three across from each dome. They are still private for each domes, they are finished in mud and plaster with water that, like all the domes, you heat for yourself so you can luxuriate in your own private little cave-like shower.
