Just sitting here in the sun thinking how delicious Eggs Benedict is – or are.
Mainly because our new Sussex hens have just started laying and producing the most perfect eggs I have ever seen – or now tasted. The gardeners thought the eggs were so pretty we should have them framed!
So, on the subject of chickens…
Three families of surgeons came to the Dome Garden earlier this year. They brought their kids and on leaving said they had had a simply lovely time and would we mind a suggestion.
“Absolutely” we said, always eager to learn how we can change things for the better.
“Kill the chickens” said the first surgeon.
“Err. Sorry?” I replied, laughing nervously as if she’d just made a small joke.
“No we’re serious.” said the second. “We think you should kill all the chickens. They are disgusting and you should keep them off the site.”
“Err… OK, I’ll bear it in mind” I stammered, half expecting the third surgeon to whip out his scalpel and excise the said patient there and then!
